Brynjarsdóttir and Lindi Close, master’s graduates of UBC, who present on the integration of plant-rich menus within hospitals and long-term care centres. It also features Marianne Katusin, Director of Support Services at Halton Healthcare, who speaks about the process of integrating plant-based choices into hospital menus, and Hayley Lapalme, Co-Executive Director of Nourish, who discusses Nourish’s new Planetary Health Menus climate program designed to help institutions reduce their food-related emissions.

The International Network of Health Promoting Hospitals & Health Services
The International Network of Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services (HPH) works towards incorporating the concepts, values, strategies and standards or indicators of health promotion into the organizational structure and culture of hospitals and health services. HPH aims to better health by improving the quality of health care, the relationship between hospitals and/or health services, the community and the environment, and the conditions for and satisfaction of patients, relatives and staff.

International Network of Health Promoting Hospitals & Health Services Task Force on HPH and the Environment
The aim of the Task Force on HPH and the Environment is assist the medical community in mitigating the effects of climate change and cultivate the resilience of health care systems to climate change. We provide evidence-based findings and work to visualize environment-related health promotion issues in existing HPH models and tools. Our group represents a broad range of research, practice, and policy expertise in public health, health promotion, climate change, environmental sustainability, and protection.
